Developing a Carers Charter for Barking and Dagenham
We are developing a Carers Charter, which will be a set of commitments that we make as a partnership in delivering services to carers.
Not everyone that provides unpaid care and support to a loved one, recognises that they are a carer/informal carer. To develop the Charter we would like to hear about your experiences of being a carer and what is important to you in your caring role.
The Charter is a way of acknowledging the important role that you play in health and social care, have your voice heard, and an opportunity to work in partnership with us to develop and access support and services that help to maintain your caring role.
To help us get a better understanding of how your caring role impacts on your life we will be spending the next few weeks asking carers to tell us what they think and helps us develop the Carers Charter.
The Carers Charter will ensure carers and professionals understand the needs of carers and how we can help to support them. This will inform services and how we work together as professionals to support you in your caring role.
The development of the Charter will take several weeks and is expected to be completed by Spring/Summer 2021. Our consultation with you will be made up of two phases so that you, as a carer, have a chance to influence what the priorities are for carers in the borough at each step of the way.
Once you have completed the questionnaire below, please revisit the page to be involved in the next stage.
