Voices of disabled residents and Covid 19

Saturday, January 30, 2021 - 14:45

Health Watch Barking & Dagenham Your Voice Counts. (All details below are from Healthwatch Barking & Dagenham)

The last year has come with many challenges for us all in different ways.  As you may know, there is great interest and value in understanding the impact of COVID-19 on the lives of those who use health and social care services.  It is of particular importance that the experiences of those who have any kind of disability are explored and understood. COVID-19 has undoubtedly exposed or created difficulties and problems in the system for people who are disabled but anecdotal evidence is showing that it may also be true that, for some, services may have actually improved.

Eight local Healthwatch, across North East London, are presently working together to hear, explore and understand the views, perspectives and experiences of disabled people over the last nine months or so. This is clearly a large project and will be broken down into three Stages.  The first two Stages are exploratory research and the third will develop recommendations for future service provision.

We are inviting you to help us do this.

The first Stage of this study is comprised of a questionnaire. We want to ensure that the voice of local residents are heard as much as the other boroughs.

Please see the links to the survey
