Cancer Awareness Online Event

The Social Action team at London Riverside Church (LRC) over the weekend of 10 -11 July 2021, LRC plans to run a ‘Love the Borough’ event.  Over these two days they will undertake a variety of community projects within the local Barking and Dagenham community.  Further details are available on the LRC website.
DIY SOS
One of the planned projects is a DIY SOS style event.   Subject to location and permission, they would like to offer basic DIY services such as assembling flat pack furniture, garden fence repairs/replacement, garden clearance, grass cutting etc.  Additional requests will be considered if they have the expertise and resources to carry out the task.  They are writing to ask if you have any families or individuals that you feel could benefit from the type of services we hope to offer over the weekend.  Please contact them at Hello@londonriversidechurch.com using the subject heading: Love the Borough: DIY SOS giving us the name and contact details of the family and the nature of the work that may need to be done.  Please let them know by 25th June 2021.

East London Rape Crisis, Nia hae two new groups running. Themes of wellbeing, self-care and empowerment in a safe and supportive environment. It will be a space to share resources, look at different activities together while also signposting to further support.

Kids Patch Weekend Club

Kids Patch is DABD's Ofsted registered weekend club for children and young people aged 5 + with disabilities or additional needs. The club offers a friendly, fun, social and inclusive environment for three age groups (5 – 8, 9 – 13 and 14 – 18) with specialist equipment and facilities and trained staff. FREE  ADVOCACY TRAINING

The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham recognises the importance of carers and the contribution they make in supporting family members with care needs through the care assessments process or reviews.They have commissioned Cambridge House Advocacy Service to deliver advocacy training to carers to strengthen their existing skills which we believe will help carers be more confident and effective when supporting those they are caring for through a Care Assessment Process or Review. You may decide to use these learned advocacy skills in the future to gain employment in advocacy either through paid or voluntary work. For Carers in Barking & Dagenham FREE ADVOCACY TRAINING,

The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham recognises the importance of carers and the contribution they make in supporting family members with care needs through the care assessments process or reviews. This training is offered free to all carers who care for someone living in Barking and Dagenham. Each training programme contains 5 half-day sessions (3.5 hours). To gain certificate, you will need to attend all 5 sessions, however, the training is flexible and if you cannot commit to all 5 sessions in one programme, you can attend missed sessions in the second or third programmes.
